it'd been some time since i last update again...juz came back frm ehipassiko camp yesterday. it's supposed to be a freshman orientation camp.. meaning it's for e freshies who coming to NUS this august. but e response was abit disappointing.. actually there were 4 freshies who joined.. but only 2 of them turned up. felt abit funnie at first.. cos it seemed like organising a camp for ourselves.. since everyone else knew each other besides e 2 freshies. was abit worried that e freshies will feel weird too.. but glad that they mixed around well with us & have enjoyed themselves in e camp.
was supposed to meet e rest of committee in sch on wed.. which was our day 0 for e camp. but sadly i was down with fever.. so i joined them on thurs morning instead. surprisingly i reached e temple (bee low see) earlier than e freshies.. it was around 9 plus then. haha. after registration n stuff.. we settled down in our grps - karuna & prajna. i was allocated in prijna grp... with all e pple i knew already. like hidayat, beinsiong, zeming, gabriel, isen, laysa & my dear (our grp leaders).. and also puay hong & siling that joined us later. =P
*~ day 1 *~
e camp started off with some simple ice-breaking games.. zeming was supposed to bring some ice that day (yeah cold, hard, solid ice) but end up he didnt cos i think he dun wana mess up e place.

had a talk by bhante sumana on e topic finding spiritual frens. quite an interesting sharing by bhante on friendship & boy-girl relationship. haha. quite surprised to hear that bhante actually knows alot abt current news (world cup for example) ha. =P

*~ day 2 *~
as usual our day started off with puja & meditation...
doing some stretching in e morning~ :)
e day was mainly spent in sch.. doing campus trek (which means playing games & exploring e various faculty) :) even though there r only 2 person in our camp who r unfamiliar with e campus.. but nonetheless we still had loads of fun playing intellectual games & doing cheers! ^-^
we were at one of our station doing crossword puzzle! haha. =D
solving A-maths problem sums..... *headache.
after a day of 'mental torture'... we were awaiting for our next game which involves running ard e field~ =P
*~ day 3 *~
The Amazing Pilgrimage~
visited 3 temples of diff traditions.. namely mahayana, theravada & vajrayana.

after a day of temple tour.. we adjourned back to bee low see temple for our song & dance practice! :)
practicing 'di yi zhi wu' for e performance during welfare visit...
after which was preparation for e finale nite~! ha.. i really love our skit! :) it started off with puay hong aka lion doing an opening 'roar'.
scene 1: darth vader (zhi han) feeling thirsty & was looking for e best green tea in e universe. he found 'heaven and hell' green tea on earth.. & started questioning wat is heaven and wat is hell.
scene 2: darth vader went to find wolverine & professor X to clear his doubt. but they refused to tell him.. unless he manage win them a round of scissors-paper-stone. darth vader won wolverine easily.. as he realised that wolverine can only give scissors. prof X tried to use his power to solve darth vader's prob.. but it went haywire.
scene 3: next, darth vader went to find doraemon aka blue monster (which is me! haha) & ask me wat is heaven & hell. as usual we played scissors-paper-stone again. doraemon lost to him as wat doraemon can do was stone. so i gave him e helicopter-like thing on my head & ask him to use it to fly to heaven. but sadly darth vader was unable to fly cos he was too heavy.. so i was killed.
scene 4: darth vader met george bush (ziyi) in USA. he asked e same qn.. & bush told him that he can find hell in iraq. and so, darth vader went over to iraq.. it was in a mess, with laysa acting as a suicide bomber.. n pple lying ard holding e card saying 'what is wrong with the world?'
scene 5: next, darth vader went to find e famous scientist albert einstein (hidayat). but einstein gave him a whole lot of rubbish eqns & formula. so, darth vader killed him out of anger....
scene 6: finally, darth vader met master yoda (isen)..... but master yoda refused to answer his qn, and so darth vader planned to finish him off. at e point where e light saber reached master yoda.. he said "this is hell". at last, darth vader realised it & discarded his weapon.. master yoda then said "this is heaven".
*~ day 4 *~
last day of cep..... had our welfare visit at Metta Welfare Association. hmm... really an interesting & unforgettable experience :) it started off with doing some aerobics with their clients.. followed by serving them with breakfast & helping with e washing up after that. after which, it's more of like free & easy... and we get to interact more with their clients. me & my dear was trying to teach one woman about e diff body parts.. but end up she went to hug my dear & refuse to let go (oops.. poor dear got 'harassed' lolx) after that, i went to play some ball games with them. at e end of e activity.. we had a mini song performance for them.
went back to e temple for lunch.. followed by photo-taking session!

HOME SWEET HOME~!! :)
really enjoyed myself in e camp~! ^-^ it's a diff experience frm last yr's cep cos this time i joined as camp comm instead of a participant.. & e camp is definitely much smaller compared to last yr. after this camp.... i guess my IQ have increased quite abit... after playing all e intellectual games during e camp. haha! =D other than that, i think this camp have refreshed my memory on e buddhism topics that i have previously learnt/read before. :) BIG THANK U to all that have made cep 2006 a success! everyone xin ku le... ^-^
